Built in 1968 as a Ford Works Twin Cam by Broadspeed, at this time it was used as a Ford Cologne Development car. We have the Fahzuebrief (German Registration Document) to confirm this.
In 1969 the car was taken back to Neerpasch and converted to LHD. Ford Cologne entered the car in the German Touring Car Championship with Dieter Glemser driving, it was a great success and they won the Championship outright. (Documented in a letter from Ford Motor Co)
Now a famous car it was then bought by Horst Floth (a former German Bobsleigh World Champion) and run by Zakspeed. It later was fitted with a BDG engine and was used for hillclimbs and smaller events through until the end of the 1970's.
