Description
The BDC is the most successful drift championship of 2008, we are currently looking for sponsors for the 2009 season.
What is the BDC?
The British drift championship was formed at the beginning of 2008 to cater for the huge number of drivers wishing to take part in the fastest growing form of motorsport for years, drifting.
Drifting is the spectacular sport where car control is second to none, cars reaching speeds of 100 mph and then sliding sideways over a set course within inches apart makes this not only thrilling to watch, but the nature of the sport makes it second to none, drivers want to drive as close as possible to each other to impress the judges. This means the camaraderie between drivers is fantastic, no keeping secrets, no cloak and dagger tactics, just good clean fun.
Within 10 days of the championship details being released, every single place for the first round of the championship were gone, we were required to increase the number of places available due to overwhelming demand. This continued throughout the 2008 season with all 6 rounds being full to capacity.
Licensing
During the 2008 season we have formed a licensing structure where drivers must prove they have the capability to drift in a safe and controlled manor. At this time we have over 100 licensed drivers wanting to compete in the 2009 season. We have more licensing days planned prior to the start of the 2009 season so we will have over 150 drivers able to compete within our championship.
Media coverage
TV
The 2008 season was televised on Sky TV within a programme called Raceworld, this programme is aired on Sky sport 1, 2, 3 and Sky sports Extra to over 48 million homes world wide which including being shown on FOX US in the USA and UK to name a few countries.
We also have featured within the world rally championship programme aired on the TV channel Dave when Team Stobart joined us in a joint venture, this featured members of the boy band Boyzone being driven by various drift drivers and Mathew Wilson driving a WRC Ford Focus.
Literature
The championship has been featured in various national magazines including front page coverage of a number of competing cars.
Special interest.
Drivers in the championship include Boyzone star Shane Lynch who was at the forefront of the championship, Shane brings a new audience to the series and is a fantastic ambassador for the sport and brings added interest to the championship.
The championship will have a new fresh website for the coming season offering advice details on how to get involved. This will include a forum where drivers can get advice and support, not only other drivers but an opportunity for companies to offer services our driver might otherwise be unaware of.
What we can offer
The BDC is set to grow during the 2009 season, we have secured venues and dates for the championship calendar. We are looking for companies who wish to gain brand awareness through sponsoring the British Drift Championship. We can offer various sponsorship deals which would see you company not only known to the drivers, but an audience worldwide due to the media exposure we will generate. All packages are available at reasonable rates and we will negotiate to suit your personal needs.
If you or your company would be interested in sponsoring the BDC in 2009 please do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss the matter further.
